Home & Garden – The “List”
Whether you’re just moving in or have been here for years, there is always that moment when you need to find a reliable contractor to do a job around your home or garden. Where to start?
The HIA thought that we’d start a list of some of our favorite contractors. If you have one, please share. And please follow up with your experiences. While it’s always a good idea to get multiple bids for big jobs, it still can help to have a starting point with people that your friends and neighbors recommend.
And if you need some help — whether it’s a general contractor, plumber, electrician, designer, arborist, lawn care company — just ask your neighbors for their recommendations here as well.
We had work done at our house with Frank Dooley @ 410-252-8919. He rehabbed an outdated bathroom and added another in an unused hallway. His work was excellent. He’s easy to work with and very neat.
We have recently had a roof replaced by the Fick Bros. Their attention to detail and workmanship is second to none. From the pre-job explanation of what to expect to the post-job clean up, walk around and interview, all is first rate.
Last year, we completed an addition to the back of our house. We worked with Mike Troxell at Troxell Building Company. They did an outstanding job and completed the project on time and on budget.
For stone work, Dominic Petrucci is the man. He has done patios, walkways, and walls at our house and around the neighborhood. You won’t be disappointed with his work or his price. He can be reached at 410-522-0808 or 410-563-2944.
We are currently building a home on Stonebridge Ct with expected completion in February. The builder is Rick Batton of Batton and Son. We would highly recommend Rick and his team and are happy for anyone considering building to contact us to see the home under construction and the quality of the work.
